As many of you know who will actually read my first ever blog post…you’ll know that I’m 100% madly in love with everything food. It’s all I think about, it’s pretty much all I talk about and 75% of my snap stories include food. It’s only borderline obsessive. So here I am, doing this food blog thang & I’m really super pumped about it. I’m always sharing my recipes with others that are linked to other food blogger’s sites but then I add “Oh! I changed this” and “I did this differently” and “Oh, you gotta completely change the way you do this part,” so I basically end up rewriting the whole darned recipe!
Anyyyyywho, this is my little nook of the internet that I will share my favorite recipes, develop my design & photography skills, work on personal recipe development and hopefully share a couple laughable stories along the way. While I’m very much in love with all types of food, I will say that I believe it’s very important to have an overall wholesome, lesser processed, natural diet. Now don’t get me wrong…greasy burgers and fried foods will forever and always be apart of my vocabulary but day to day, I try to substitute more natural ingredients for less processed ones. I’m hoping that my friends and family will adapt some of these very easy changes for a healthier day to day diet.
I love love love one pot/pan dishes and I have a newfound admiration for my crockpot. Uhm, thank you SO MUCH whoever invented this magical countertop electrical cooking appliance! While my one pot dishes are super awesome and quick, I also sometimes like spending hours in the kitchen making everything from scratch. It makes me feel like a powerful woman, ya know? Like I have incredible skills and what not. And last but not least, I have a colossal sweet tooth. Since I have this fortunate yet unfortunate problem, I try to make sweets with no refined sugar (or less sugar) and substitute coconut oil for vegetable or canola. I know, I know…what kind of monster are you?! But seriously, you’d be surprised at how tasty these better-for-you treats are and how much better you feel about eating one of them! Or two…or three……whoops -looks around as I shove a brownie in my mouth-
