Long time, no posts everyone! My sincerest apologies… I was so thrilled to be back in the kitchen this week and working on some treats for you all! When I was growing up, one of my faaaaaavorite meals was a good ‘ol box of Hamburger Helper cheeseburger macaroni.
Me: “What’s for dinner mom?”
Mom: “I was thinking Hamburger Helper”
Of course, I was not so fortunate to have such a wild outfit but the dance moves are pretty on point. Anywho, so here we are as a 22-year old, scared of all the big words I cannot pronounce on the side of boxed dinners like Hamburger Helper. I prefer to keep my foods on the “au naturale” side but sometimes making dinners from scratch are hard. And boxed dinners are easy. But this dinner is both easy AND au naturale. Fist pumps everyone, fist pumps.
There are no un-prounounce-able words (I just made that word up.) Noodles + cheese + spices + milk = dinner. I would say it takes MAYBE two extra minutes than the boxed version to measure out the spices. Big whoop, 2 minutes is nothin’! Plus, if you love it as much as I do, you can just make little baggies of the spice mixture to keep around for the next time you make it! Let’s get started, shall we?
There’s really not a whole lot of ‘splainin to do, you take 1/2 of a box of elbow macaroni, (save the other half for the next time you make this, #doubledinner what! what!) some shredded cheddar cheese, milk, and spices. Stir it on up, cover and let that beautiful combination do work! A few stirs and 15 minutes later, you got yo’self a tasty meal for dinner, free of those big scary words that nobody knows how to pronounce!
